We're keeping our hospitals safe for you
We're keeping our hospitals safe for you
Your safety is our number one priority. We understand that you may be worried about visiting us, but we want to reassure you that we’ve put safety measures in place to make our hospitals COVID-19 secure. These changes were guided by the UK government, Public Health agencies, and our infection prevention team.
We're ready to support you
There’s no need to wait any longer – we’re here to help you whenever you’re ready. Book your consultation with us here.
Ensuring we treat who we can, as quickly as we can, safely
We are committed to reducing the time people have to wait to be seen, but acknowledge that it’s taking longer than it was before the COVID-19 pandemic hit.
To ensure we help as many people as possible, as quickly as possible, we’re extending hospital opening hours and, where we can, increasing the size of our teams, while ensuring that COVID-19 safety measures are strictly adhered to.
How we’ve made our hospitals COVID-19 secure
Here are some of the measures we have in place, so that we can continue to deliver exceptional care in the safest environment possible.
Screening. On arrival, we'll complete a COVID-19 risk assessment with you.
More hand sanitising stations. Hand sanitising stations can be found around the hospitals and we are requesting patients to clean their hands regularly.
Changes to inpatient visitors. Visitors are allowed but we ask that they are kept at a minimum. Please check with the relevant hospital for information on when you can visit.
How you can keep yourself and others safe
While we’re doing everything we can to make our hospitals safe for you, to make this work, we need to work together. We ask that you follow these simple rules when you visit the hospital.
Read the information we give you. Your hospital team will send you a letter or email to confirm your appointment and any requirements. Make sure you read this thoroughly, so you know exactly what you need to do, and ask us any questions. Please also let us know if you have cancer or you’re self-isolating for any reason.
Speak to us. Do ask us any questions you may have about your visit if you’re unsure. Please also let us know if you have cancer or you’re shielding for any reason.
Stay home if you are unwell. If you feel sick or have COVID-19 symptoms on the day of your appointment, please don't attend. Instead, call the hospital and we’ll be able to support you with rebooking at an appropriate time.
Sanitise or wash your hands regularly. We ask that you clean your hands regularly using the hand sanitising stations on arrival and throughout the hospital.
Wear a face covering when asked to. Although face masks are no longer required in our hospitals, they are mandatory in any clinical area where care is delivered to immunocompromised patients, for example oncology units. Should any patients and visitors wish to continue to wear a face mask elsewhere in the hospital, your wishes and decision will be respected.
