What to expect

Advice that's tailored to you

Our remote Menopause GP Service gives women 40+ years old the opportunity to talk one-to-one with a specialist GP about symptoms, outcomes, concerns, and treatment options.

60 minutes with a specialist

Each package includes a full hour with a specialist GP to thoroughly explore how the menopause is affecting you.

Ask any questions you might have or spend time creating a tailored action plan designed to address your unique symptoms.

Patients commonly discuss the following during their appointment:

  • The perimenopause
  • Menopausal signs and symptoms
  • Coping strategies
  • HRT and whether it’s an option for them
  • How lifestyle can impact symptoms
  • What the future looks like after the menopause

Guidance that’s tailored to you

Our Menopause GP Service is about giving you expert advice that’s tailored to your unique symptoms and experiences.

Working one-to-one with an expert means you’ll leave us with a better understanding of your situation and how to successfully navigate it with confidence and clarity.

Medication and prescriptions

During your appointment, our specialist GP can discuss the pros and cons of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) with you.

If required, they can also prescribe HRT during your session.

If we recommend HRT but you aren’t sure whether it’s right for you, you can always take some time to consider and come back to us for a prescription at a later date.

Follow-up appointment

If you want to, you have the option to book a secondary follow-up appointment to check-in and discuss your progress with our specialist GP.

A follow-up appointment can be scheduled during your first appointment, or at a later date.

Opportunity for referrals

Should you need further specialist care, your GP can provide referrals to streamline access to additional support services.

Please note that any GP or specialist referral services recommended or accessed outside of the contents of this package are priced separately.

FAQs

  • Can women under 40 book an appointment?

Our remote menopause GP consultations are designed for women aged 40 and over.

If you are under 40 years of age and wish to discuss the menopause, please book in for a routine 15-minute GP consultation.

This will allow our GPs to discuss your symptoms and refer you (where necessary) to the correct specialist.

  • Is there an in-person appointment option?

No, all our Menopause GP Service appointments are delivered online via Microsoft Teams.

After you’ve booked, you’ll receive information about how accessing this will work on the day of your appointment.

  • Can my GP receive a summary of my appointment?

    Yes, they can.

You can request for a summary of any information, guidance, or prescriptions to be sent to your registered GP at any time during or after your appointment.

This means you can seamlessly continue receiving care in another setting after your appointment.

  • How do prescriptions work?

If you’re prescribed medication during your appointment, you can start taking it immediately.

If HRT medication is prescribed during your appointment, we’ll deliver it to you via a third-party pharmacy with nationwide delivery options.

  • How will my appointment work?

All appointments take place virtually using Microsoft Teams.

We are unable to conduct appointments by telephone, because your GP may need to show you their screen while filling out certain documents.

Consultations are voice-only and there is no requirement for you to use a webcam during your appointment.

  • When and how do I make a payment for my appointment?

    All appointments are self-pay only.

We take payment for your appointment over the phone when you book. Please have your payment method ready when you call us on 0300 123 1902.

  • What if I have to cancel?

If you cancel more than 24 hours before the start of your appointment you will be refunded in full for the appointment cost.

Cancelling less than 24 hours before the start of your appointment, or failing to attend, means no refund will be given.
