Footballer opens new Nuffield Health medical clinic in Norwich

The £495,000 investment took three months to build and is Nuffield Health’s 29th medical clinic to open within one of its 112 fitness and wellbeing gyms across the UK. The new clinic continues the not-for-profit healthcare organisation’s vision to deliver a variety of connected health and wellbeing services, helping people get healthy and stay healthy.

Available to non-members and members, local residents can now book physiotherapy appointments without referral from their doctor and book a Health Assessment, which gives a detailed view of a person’s health covering key concerns and tests for diabetes, heart health, cancer risk and emotional wellbeing. For those customers undertaking Health Assessments, an onsite laboratory has also been added to analyse blood tests in order to give same day results.

Former Norwich City FC player Iwan Roberts and now sports commentator, cut the ribbon to officially open the clinic and said: “As a professional footballer, looking after my health was always really important as I was constantly trying to avoid various injuries! Since retiring and getting older, I’m still just as aware of my health and I think having all these new services all under one roof in the setting of a gym is a great idea. It gives you no excuse not to get checked out!”

The medical clinic opening now complements existing services at the Nuffield Health Norwich Fitness and Wellbeing Gym and features a 25 metre swimming pool, relaxation spa, sauna and steam room, spin studio, café and bar and gym which includes functional training, boxing, TRX and kettlebell zones and over 65 fitness classes every week.
