Newly qualified nurses programme nominated for ‘Innovation in Recruitment’ award

The Nuffield Health Newly Qualified Nurses Plan, The Confident Start Programme has been shortlisted for the 2016 Recruiter Awards. The prestigious awards, which take place in London on Wednesday 4 May, were set up in 2002 to recognise best practice in the recruitment industry and are entered by some of the most well-known names in business, including o2, Adidas and Pret a Manger.

Shortlisted in the ‘Innovation in Recruitment’ category, The Confident Start Programme is a nine-month training plan that helps newly qualified nurses to gain the confidence and experience they need to develop into great nurses. Each nurse is assigned their own mentor to provide peer-to-peer coaching, support them through the programme and offer valuable insight into the profession. During the programme nurses participate in work placements, seminars and master classes to develop their clinical skills and build a portfolio of achievements along the way. Once complete, nurses are equipped with all that they need to begin their careers in a hospital workplace with many going on to be employed by Nuffield Health.

Carol Kefford, Nuffield Health Chief Nurse and leader of The Confident Start Programme, comments: “The introduction of the Confident Start Programme has transformed the way that Nuffield Health recruits nurses. We recognise that new nurses play an important role in shaping the future of healthcare and believe the programme not only helps us to find the best new nurses, but also offers them the best possible start to their careers. We are so pleased this has been echoed by the Recruiter Awards and look forward to the awards in May.”

All entries will be subject to a rigorous judging process, with respected experts from across the sector enlisted to help, before the winners are announced. To find out more about the Newly Qualified Nurses Plan, The Confident Start Programme please visit nuffieldhealthcareers.com
