Nuffield Health Bristol Hospital respond to publication of the Care Quality Commission’s (CQC) inspection report
- Overview
“We welcome the CQC report. Nuffield Health Bristol is one of the first independent hospitals to be reviewed by the CQC in the new second wave of inspections. We are pleased that the hospital has been rated ‘Good’ by the CQC across the adult wards, operating theatres, outpatients and diagnostics services. We are also pleased that the dedication, commitment and flexibility of frontline staff was noted, as well as recognition of the high quality care delivered to patients.
Patient safety is our number one priority, and we work with outstanding and highly experienced Consultants, physicians and nursing staff. We are passionate about delivering high quality care and we are obviously very disappointed with the findings in relation to children’s services, which we have taken immediate steps to address. It is also disappointing that these findings have negatively and disproportionately impacted on the rating of the entire hospital.
We are one of the first independent hospitals to be inspected on children’s surgery under the new inspection criteria and we are committed to working with the CQC to ensure our services are in line with their expectations and requirements. In the short time since the inspection, we have worked proactively and positively with the CQC. We immediately suspended our children’s services while we implemented the changes they requested.
Children’s diagnostics and outpatients services at Nuffield Health Bristol have now reopened. We will resume children’s surgical services shortly.
Should any patient have questions or concerns about any of our services they should contact the hospital directly.
We now look forward to taking part in a further CQC inspection to verify the actions we have taken and expect a much improved rating.”
