Nuffield Health Physiotherapists on hand for HSBC Triathlon, Duathlon and Scootathlon
- Overview
The event, taking place on Sunday 14th September 2014, offers something for absolutely everyone looking to get involved in the UK’s fastest growing sport.
With the three most popular tri distances on offer plus a Duathlon and a Scootathlon for the little ones, this ‘festival of multisport’ is aimed at the seasoned veteran or the complete novice or if you want to take on the challenge as part of a team.
There is also a Fun Triathlon distance for ages 9+, this is split into a children's wave and an adult wave so that the youngsters can race together.
The venue is Dorney Lake, the 2012 Olympic Rowing and Canoeing venue, and is the number one triathlon location of choice in the South East. The bike and run courses are completely flat and traffic-free while the water for the swim leg is purpose built, clean, clear and calm.
This was originally a corporate event, before title sponsors HSBC opened the day up to the general public in order to promote healthy living to as many people as possible. The ethos of the HSBC Triathlon is to get everyone involved.
Dr Andrew Jones, Managing Director, Wellbeing, who is taking part in the race, said:
“This is a fantastic event which Nuffield Health supports every year. We have a strong team of 60 Nuffield Health racers this year and I am very pleased a team of our physiotherapists will be available for all of us.
“Our on-going partnership with HSBC provides corporate fitness facilities which help to create a motivated, productive, fit workforce with the capacity and desire to excel and achieve more.”
Nuffield Health runs HSBC’s fitness and wellbeing facility, which has taken the Corporate Club of the Year at the Fitness Industry Association & Matrix Flame Awards.
