Your Teammate in Health and Wellbeing: Nuffield Health Partners with The FA to Build a Healthier Nation
- Overview
With more than 65 years’ experience and an industry-leading network of health and wellbeing facilities, we offer a full breadth of services, from physical and mental health, hospital treatments and clinical care through to rehabilitation and general wellbeing. England teams rely on experts on and off the pitch to perform at their best, and we similarly understand that everyone’s health and wellbeing needs the right support.
The findings from our recent Healthier Nation Index* showcased the impact of the pandemic on our health and wellbeing, revealing that 37% of UK adults are now more concerned about their mental health, with a further 40% worried about the impact on their physical health. Through the partnership, we aspire to be the nation’s teammate in health, building on the mental and physical benefits that football brings to improve the wellbeing of individuals and communities.
The partnership will aim to build a healthier nation, raising awareness of the importance of positive mental and physical wellbeing and developing a series of initiatives which give people of all ages the tools and encouragement to live a healthier life.
Commenting on the partnership our Chief Executive Officer, Steve Gray, said: “We are incredibly excited to bring our purpose to life through this long-term partnership with The FA. Football is about teamwork and community, and similarly we believe in the power of working together and supporting one another to help everyone achieve their health and wellbeing ambitions.
“Our Healthier Nation Index survey shone a light on some of the key health and wellbeing challenges affecting people today, so we’re looking forward to becoming the nation’s teammate in health and wellbeing and playing a key role in showing people how to live a healthier life and achieve better health outcomes using the power of football.”
Navin Singh, The FA’s Commercial Director, said: “We are very excited by this partnership with Nuffield Health. The FA aims to use football as a force for good, so it is a fantastic opportunity to be able to link up with an industry-leading health and wellbeing provider to work towards building a healthier nation.
“Nuffield Health’s purpose aligns perfectly with our assets across England teams, Wembley Stadium connected by EE and St. George’s Park and this partnership will help us to continue to unite the game and inspire the nation.”
As part of the agreement, we will receive several rights, including access to the England National Men’s and Women’s Senior Teams, Wembley Stadium Connected by EE, and St. George’s Park. Together, we will also work together on grassroots initiatives to support the needs of local communities, giving more people the tools to live a healthier life.
