About

Dr Aashish Vyas is a Consultant Respiratory Physician who specialises in asthma, exercise related breathlessness, undiagnosed breathlessness, COPD, chronic cough, respiratory infection and mechanical ventilation. Aashish is the director of Elite Breathlessness Clinic at The Manchester Institute of Health & Performance.

Dr Vyas gained his primary medical qualification at the University of Manchester in 1990 and went on to gain several post graduate qualifications alongside his specialist and basic training. These qualifications included his Medical Doctorate and CCT in respiratory medicine, as well as membership with the Royal College of Physicians. Upon completion of his training, he was appointed Consultant in 2003, where he has since become internationally renowned for his respiratory practice and expertise, becoming the lead of NHSE commissioned regional severe asthma and complex breathlessness Unit for Lancashire and South Cumbria. He is also an Honorary Lecturer with the Lancashire Teaching Hospital Trust and leads the Severe Asthma Service as part of the Northwest Severe Asthma Network. He part of the British Thoracic Society’s council and has a seat in the British Thoracic Society’s Research and Scientific Committee.

Dr Vyas works work at MIHP supports the management of breathlessness both exercise related and otherwise. At MIHP the elite breathlessness team are able to provide comprehensive state of the art facilities supporting diagnostics and treatment of their patients.
