About

Dr Lakhdar qualified in 1976 in Libya and did a Master's degree at Glasgow University in Clinical Pharmacology and postgraduate training in General (internal) Medicine and Diabetes and Endocrinology at Glasgow Hospitals.

Dr Lakhdar was appointed as a Consultant Physician in Diabetes and Endocrinology at The Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, Preston in 1996. In 2004 he moved to Whipps Cross University Hospital where he is Clinical Lead in diabetes-renal disease.

Dr Lakdar is an International Advisor to The Royal College of Physicians on Medical Education and a Regional Advisor to the DVLA on Driving and Diabetes.

Special interests

Experienced senior consultant endocrinologist dealing with all aspects of diabetes in adults, obesity, erectile dysfunction, hypertension, lipid disorders, risk management and prevention of cardiovascular disease. All aspects of endocrinology, particularly thyroid disorders.
