Dr Andrew James is a specialist in Clinical Neuropsychology. He is qualified as a Chartered Psychologist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and registered as a Practitioner Psychologist (Clinical Psychologist) with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Dr Andrew James has worked as a Clinical Neuropsychologist in hospital, residential, and community settings in the field of brain injury rehabilitation for over 20 years.
Since 2006, he has been employed as a Consultant grade Neuropsychologist providing clinical leadership for multi-disciplinary neurorehabilitation teams. On a daily basis, his clinical role is to assess the nature and severity of cognitive, emotional, and behavioural changes following brain injury as well as devising and implementing treatment and rehabilitation plans in a person-centred context. Dr James has prepared medicolegal expert witness reports since 2006.

Research
Within Dr Andrew James' current NHS post, he is active in clinical research and has particular interest in improving diagnostic accuracy with evidence-based clinical decision-making within neuropsychological assessment. He is also interested in neurobehavioural disorders (aggression and inappropriate sexual behaviour) following acquired brain injury and their relationships to executive dysfunction.
