Dr Claire Olver

Dr Claire Olver has 20 years of experience in General Practice. She trained at St George’s Hospital Medical School, graduating in 1998, and qualified as a GP in 2004, having completed GP training in Essex. Dr Olver was a partner in a busy NHS practice in rural Essex from 2004 until 2016. She started part time private practice in 2015 in London and the South East, and soon realised the vast benefits of Time, Accessibility and Continuity.

Following her passion for sailing and the great outdoors, she relocated to South Devon in 2018, and now runs Private GP Services at Nuffield Hospitals in Plymouth and Exeter.

While Dr Olver’s main interests in her early career were in Women’s Health, Paediatrics, and Mental Health, she now finds the diversity of being a Generalist very fulfilling. She consults on all aspects of General Practice, and is a Panel Physician for Immigration Medicals for Australia, New Zealand and Canada. She puts a strong emphasis on the Doctor-Patient Relationship, and believes patients should have continuity of care and time to be listened to.

Dr Claire Olver is married with three grown up sons. She enjoys coastal walks with her two spaniels, sailing, skiing, and travel. She strives to combine these hobbies with cherished time with her family.
