After completing a physiology degree and qualifying in Scotland in 1997, Dr Barker commenced surgical training at Oxford University/ Wessex rotation, before moving into General Practice to develop primary care-based surgical services.
Dr Barker moved to the Southwest in 2002 and has set up community-based dermatology surgery and vasectomy services for the NHS. In 2013 he trained in “no scalpel vasectomy” and set up services using this technique in Plymouth and Exeter. He has performed vasectomy surgery since 2006 and completed in excess of 6000 procedures, and currently operates across the Southwest.
