Dr Richardson trained in New Zealand graduating from Auckland Medical School in 1998. He went on to gain a wide range of experience of hospital specialties initially in New Zealand and Australia before continuing his training in Edinburgh since 2001. He completed his GP training in Edinburgh in 2007 and was a full time GP partner for 6 years at the West End Practice before more recently developing a portfolio practice focussing on private healthcare, health promotion, dermatology and minor surgery.
He also has a salaried GP position with the NHS Lothian unscheduled GP service (NHS24) and a primary care management role for NHS Lothian.
