About
Dr Lord is a leading consultant in sexual and reproductive health (also known as genitourinary medicine -GUM). She has been an NHS consultant at Oxfordshire Sexual Health Services for over five years and is the current clinical lead.
She has professional qualifications and expertise in sexual health, HIV prevention and treatment, and contraception; and a specialist interest in male/female chronic genital conditions, including genital skin conditions, genital pain or chronic vaginal/penile discharge. Services offered include:
STI care:
If infections are identified, she will not only manage you, but also discreetly inform all sexual partners who may also need tests or treatment.
Men's Health Services:
- Diagnosis and management of penile/genital pain
- Management of urethral/penile discharge
- Treatment of penile skin/foreskin issues
- Contraception counselling – finding the right method for you.
- Intrauterine device (contraceptive coil) insertions, removal, and exchanges, (range of pain relief options).
- Management of chronic vaginal discharge, including recurrent candida and bacterial vaginosis (BV).
- Treatment of vulval skin problems.
- Management Vulval pain syndrome (VPS) – vulvodynia and vaginismus.
- Dr Lord provides full Pre-Exposure for HIV (PrEP) services – which help reduce the risk of HIV infection. She can ensure you to obtain PrEP easily and efficiently while still having all the relevant tests and vaccinations.
- Dr Lord can provide expert medical care for those diagnosed with HIV.
Confidentiality:
- Dr Lord specialises in digital medicine and she is a digital ambassador for the NHS. She recognises that confidentiality is one of the founding principles of sexual health care in England.
- Your private care will be documented in a confidential electronic record, separate from all other hospital/GP systems. Tests are done using a unique identifier, not your name.

- Investigation and treatment of chronic urethral discharge
- Diagnosis and management of male genital skin conditions, e.g. lichen sclerosis, Zoon’s Balanitis)
- Diagnosis and management of Balanitis/Balanoposthitis (all causes)
- HIV prevention: Pre Exposure Prophylaxis: PrEP
- HIV diagnosis and ongoing treatment
- Contraception assessment and counselling – with subsequent provision
- Contraceptive coil insertion (non-gynaecological) – hormonal (IUS) and non-hormonal.
