Special interests
I am passionate about optimising the non-operative treatment
of musculoskeletal conditions. I assess and treat a variety of sport, exercise
and musculoskeletal problems. During the consultation, if appropriate, I will
perform a targeted complaint-driven ultrasound. I also perform ultrasound-guided as well as unguided injections. I treat difficult tendon problems with
therapies such as dry needling, autologous blood injections, PRP injections,
hyaluronic acid injections and high volume injections and extracorporeal
shockwave therapy. I also perform prolotherapy injections in peripheral joints
(not spinal injections) for specific conditions.
Other interests
In my private practice, I have introduced PRP injections into my practice in October 2018 after evaluating the effectiveness of the treatment and having undertaken accredited training in Munich. I now teach ultrasound-guided PRP injection techniques in Munich. I am also currently evaluating other regenerative medicine techniques.
From an
educational perspective, I teach and also lead courses on FA accredited pitchside courses on advanced trauma and medical management. I am a tutor at the
AECC University College Bournemouth, teaching musculoskeletal ultrasound. I sit
on the National Training Advisory Committee, the SAC, for Sport and Exercise
Medicine and have previously been lead for training locally in the East
Midlands.
Personal interests
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and four
children. I also enjoy participating in sports, playing golf and cricket. I take
a keen interest in cultural and social issues and I am actively involved in the
community.
