Dr Julekha Wajed is a Consultant Rheumatologist at Kingston Hospital NHS Trust. She has been a consultant for over 10 years, working at Frimley Park Hospital previously. Her specialist interests are the diagnosis and management of early inflammatory arthritis (Rheumatoid arthritis, Psoriatic arthritis and spondyloarthritis), osteoarthritis, gout, osteoporosis, PMR, GCA, soft tissue and joint injections. She is passionate about patient-focused care, converging patient education, medical treatment, exercise and a holistic approach. Dr Wajed graduated from Manchester University in 2003. She completed her medical training in North Thames London, and CCST in Rheumatology and General Internal Medicine in the South Thames London training program. She was awarded Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 2017.
She was awarded an MSc in Rheumatology from Kings College London in 2017. She has won the Barbara Ansell and Eric Bywaters prize at the Royal Society of Medicine and awarded a travelling fellowship through the British Society of Rheumatology.
Dr Wajed has a keen research interest, with multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals. She has presented her work at local and European conferences. She has led roles on clinical effectiveness & audit committees and is actively involved with the training and teaching of local GPs and junior doctors.
