Research
Dr Dhinoja performed basic science research into lipids during his cardiology training. Since becoming a consultant in 2007, he has been involved in numerous clinical projects in his subspecialty of electrophysiology that have resulted in publications in peer reviewed journals.
Dr Dhinoja has published as both a contributing and senior author. He devised the concept of middle cardiac vein pacing for mid-cavity obstruction in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and performed the index procedure in 2008. Since then, he has performed all of the device implants for these patients at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, refining the implant technique in the process. Currently, he co-supervising a PhD student who is conducting a blinded randomised trial of this technique to objectively assess how effective it is.
Insertion of permanent pacemakers; implantable defibrillators (ICD); biventricular or cardiac resynchronisation devices; loop recorders; complex device revision and extraction; subcutaneous (leadless) ICD insertion.
