About
Dr Mike Seddon is a Consultant Cardiologist, based in Taunton. His undergraduate training was at Cambridge University and Imperial College. He undertook his General Cardiology training in Wessex before embarking on a higher degree. His work at Kings, London, on vascular biology led to an MD, some high-impact publications in peer-reviewed journals, and the British Cardiovascular Society’s Young Investigator of the Year Prize, 2008.
He completed his sub-speciality training in Coronary Intervention via Fellowships in Southampton and Vancouver and was formally trained in Cardiac CT. He is actively involved in teaching at local and national level. He has expertise in all aspects of Cardiology including coronary heart disease, palpitations and rhythm disturbance, atrial fibrillation, hypertension, heart failure, and valve disease. His focus is on providing a personal and thorough service with a clearly communicated plan.
Personal interests
He was a keen sportsman in his youth and was drawn to Somerset by the outdoors lifestyle he experienced in Vancouver. Currently, though, he is outrun by his 3 small children and has put his faith in high-intensity training to regain fitness quickly.
