About

Dr Shahid is a Consultant Cardiologist with a specialist interest in cardiac imaging at the Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust, Dudley. He specialises in multimodality diagnostic - cardiac MRI, cardiac CT and advanced echocardiography including 3D Transthoracic, transoesophageal, contrast and stress echo. He has a particular clinical interest in the management of valvular heart disease, cardiomyopathy, arrhythmias, coronary heart disease, hypertension, heart failure and syncope

Ischaemic heart disease; coronary heart disease; Hypertension; cardiomyopathy; arrhythmias; syncope; heart failure; Cardiac MRI; Cardiac CT; Transthoracic echocardiography; Trans-oesophageal echocardiography; Stress echocardiography.


Other interests

He has a special interest in medical education and research. He has published various articles in multiple journals and performed presentations at a national and international level. In addition to his clinical work, he is an Honorary Senior lecturer at the University of Birmingham and a Specialty Tutor for the Dudley Group NHS FT.
