About
Dr Ganeshananthan is a Consultant General Physician and Care of the Older Person Physician. His NHS work is at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford. He works both in the acute hospital setting and in the community, running clinics at the Milford Hospital.
His postgraduate training included working at Guys and St Thomas’ Hospital in London and Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals.
Dr Ganeshananthan helped establish Acute Geriatric Care in the Royal Surrey County Hospital.
He is involved in undergraduate and post graduate training. He is a post graduate examiner for the MRCP.
Dr Ganeshananthan’s clinical practice involves managing patients with general medical problems, multimorbidity and frailty.
He manages patients with falls, poor mobility, blackouts, vertigo and functional deterioration.
Management of heart failure in the older patients.
Assessment of cognitive impairment. Management of delirium.
Medical optimisation of older patients prior to surgery.
