About

Dr Peter Cackett trained in medicine at the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals (UMDS) in London and qualified in 1995. He completed a series of junior doctor posts in England and Australia before undertaking ophthalmology surgical training in Glasgow and Edinburgh. Dr Cackett gained further subspecialty experience in medical retina when he trained as an International Fellow at the Singapore National Eye Centre in 2007. He was appointed Ophthalmology Consultant with a special interest in medical retina at the Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion in Edinburgh in 2008. He is clinical lead for the medical retina department and organises the undergraduate Ophthalmology module for the Edinburgh University medical students. He has over 60 scientific peer reviewed publications.
