About
Dr Ramachandran Venkitaraman (Ram) had post graduate medical training in India, where he was awarded the DMRT, MD, DipNB and DM qualifications in radiotherapy and medical oncology. He received clinical oncology training at the Royal Marsden Hospital, London from 2005, where he conducted clinical research in the academic urology unit at the Institute of Cancer Research, London.
He is a member of the Royal College of Physicians (Ireland) and a fellow of Royal College of Radiologists, and has specialist accreditation of the European Society of Medical Oncology. He has 50 publications in peer reviewed journals and presentations in international conferences which have won merit awards. He was appointed as Consultant Oncologist at the Ipswich Hospital NHS in June 2009. His special interests are non-surgical management of breast cancers and urologic malignancies including chemotherapy, radiotherapy, hormonal therapy and targeted therapy.
