Dr Mohammed Rashid Akhtar is a highly experienced and skilled Consultant Diagnostic and Interventional Radiologist with extensive experience in cutting-edge, minimally invasive treatments that provide effective alternatives to traditional surgery.
He holds the prestigious Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) and certification from the European Board of Interventional Radiology (EBIR).
With a medical degree from University College London and advanced training at St Barts, The Royal London and The Royal Free Hospitals, Dr Akhtar has developed expertise in vascular and non-vascular interventions, including the management of varicoceles, deep vein thrombosis, vascular access, uterine fibroid embolization, and interventional oncology including ablation of liver lesions.
His approach prioritizes patient safety, comfort, and the latest evidence-based techniques to ensure optimal outcomes.
Dr Akhtar is actively involved in research, having received the British Medical Association’s ‘Young Author of the Year’ award. He has authored numerous publications and has lead research as a National Chief Investigator. He regularly presents at national and international conferences. A dedicated educator, he has delivered over 100 lectures nationally and internationally.
