About
Dr Jain is a Consultant Immunologist at Nuffield Health The Manor Hospital, Oxford and was appointed Consultant Immunologist at the Oxford University Hospital Trust in 2012. She graduated and did MD Medicine from CMC, Punjab University, India. She did MRCP in 2003, FRC Path in Immunology in 2011, and Diploma in Clinical Education 2012 and was appointed Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in Oxford University in 2014 and is clinical lead for allergy at Oxford University Hospital Trust.
Dr Jain is available to see patients with food allergy, oral allergy syndrome, aeroallergen allergy (due to pollen, house dust mite, moulds, and animal dander), anaphylaxis, urticaria and angioedema, bee and wasp venom allergy and drug allergy. She can offer skin prick tests and arrange for blood tests and offer appropriate advice in the diagnosis, management of these allergies.

Other interests
Dr Jain is involved in the diagnosis and management of patients with immune deficiency in particular primary and secondary antibody deficiency, and patients with C1 esterase inhibitor deficiency leading to hereditary and acquired angioedema.
She has a keen interest in teaching, and regularly teaches on the Integrated MSc Immunology course in University of Oxford; teaching on the Biochemistry Course, and teaching medical students/F1 and F2 doctors. She is involved in teaching GPs through holding GP Allergy Study days and giving lectures on allergy in GP training days.

Research
Dr Jain has experience in the design of research projects, the process of applying for funding and obtaining ethical approval. She was involved in a research on day 5 Neopterin levels as early predictor of acute renal transplant rejection, and in isolation and immune-characterization of C1q from renal patients with autoimmune nephritis.
She is actively involved in clinical trials having participated in trial on use of C1 Inhibitor concentrate in acute abdominal and facial oedema in hereditary angioedema and in open label, multicentre study to evaluate safety, local tolerability convenience and efficacy of self-administered subcutaneous Icatibant in treatment of acute hereditary angioedema attacks.
She has been involved in studies on role of stressors in the pathogenesis of chronic spontaneous urticaria. She did an audit to establish that maximal, optimal medical therapy can improve outcome in patients with severe allergic rhinitis due to grass pollen.
