Dr Leech graduated from King’s College Hospital in 1990. He was a Specialist Registrar in the South East of England working in hospitals in East Kent, East Sussex, Guy’s and King’s including a 6 month fellowship in the Liver Transplant Unit at King’s College Hospital. He spent a 12 month sabbatical at the Royal Perth Hospital, Western Australia incorporating 4 months “Outback anaesthesia” working in collaboration with the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
In 1999, he was appointed as a Consultant Anaesthetist at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. He has held several senior managerial positions in the Trust including Lead Consultant for Obstetric Anaesthesia 1999-2011, Royal College of Anaesthetists Tutor from 2000-2006 and Clinical Director for Critical Care from 2011-2015. He is also a Consultant Appraiser, Educational Supervisor and Lead Clinician for Long Term Vascular Access.
Dr Leech set up the Portacath service in the Trust in 2010 and since then has implanted well over 1000 Ports making him one of the most experienced doctors performing this procedure in the region.

Spinal anaesthesia for major Orthopaedic surgery - Hip and Knee replacements
Total Intravenous Anaesthesia (TIVA) and sedation techniques
