About
Dr Nichani is a highly experienced Consultant Paediatrician and has been working at the Leicester Children's Hospital in the University Hospitals of Leicester for the last 25 years.
He specialises in all areas of paediatrics including dermatology, allergies including hayfever and asthma. He also treats constipation, urinary tract infections, blood disorders and paediatric atopy.
Dr Nichani is the Lead Consultant for the paediatric intensive care and the high dependency care unit for University Hospitals of Leicester and the East Midlands region. Dr Nichani attends to babies, children and teenagers from birth to 18 years of age.
He is also the founder of Healing Little Hearts - a charity based in Leicestershire sending teams of surgeons and specialists to India to perform life-saving open-heart surgery on babies and children free of charge. Dr Nichani was awarded an OBE in Her Majesty’s Birthday Honours list on the 10th October 2020 for his services within the field of Medicine and Charity. In April 2019 Prime Minister Theresa May also awarded Dr Nichani with a Points of Light award for outstanding contributions to Charity for his work with Healing Little Hearts (Registered Charity 1130194).
