About
Dr Sarju Mathew graduated from Bangalore University in India in 1991. He completed his postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Indian national institutes PGIMER Chandigarh and JIPMER Pondicherry. He moved to Scotland to further his career in 2001. He was trained both in Edinburgh and Glasgow and completed his specialist registrar training in 2008. Since then he has been working as a consultant Gynaecologist and Obstetrician at Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
Dr Mathew offers comprehensive gynaecological outpatient services for cancer screening, investigation and treatment of conditions like menstrual disorders, prolapse, incontinence, fibroids, ovarian cysts, pelvic pain and gynaecological cancers. He is an accredited colposcopist and has expertise in outpatient hysteroscopy and pelvic ultrasound.
He is an established gynaecological surgeon. He offers full range of complex open gynaecological surgical procedures and also key-hole surgery including total laparoscopic hysterectomy and laser ablation of endometriosis. He is proficient in operative hysteroscopic procedures like endometrial resection and ablations. He has extensive experience in uro-gynaecological procedures including prolapse repair and pelvic floor reconstruction using mesh. He has experience both in conservative management and surgical correction of urinary incontinence.

Minimal Access Gynaecological Surgery (Key hole surgery) and Complex Open Surgery/Uro-Gynaecology/Laser Gynaecological Surgery/Colposcopy/Gynaecology Ultrasound and Hysteroscopy.

Dr Mathew had his MD thesis on “the role of low dose aspirin in prevention of preeclampsia in diabetic pregnancies” accepted by the post graduate institute of medical education and research, Chandigarh in India in 1996. He has also published results of his studies as a specialist registrar in gynaecology in UK.
