Dr Simon Donnelly

Dr Donnelly has set up and leads an Early Inflammatory back pain service at Whipps Cross that has gained national recognition as best UK new service innovation, 2016, from the British Society of Rheumatology and this allows early identification and treatment for patients with Anklosing Spondylitis (Axial Spondyloarthropathy). He is involved in numerous phase 3 and 4 clinical trials on the NHS looking at newer TNF inhibitors or Biologic therapies used in RA, PsA, AS in early and resistant disease. Has published trials into newer treatments used for OA such as viscosupplements and APOStherapy and has a long interest in difficult Fibromyalgia seeing about 200 new patients a year with this condition.
