About
Dr Anderson is a Consultant Neuropsychologist and HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist. He is a Fellow of the British Psychological Society, is listed in the BPS Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists, and has extensive experience working with individuals with acquired brain injury and neuropsychological disorders. He provides face-to-face and telehealth consultations, as well as independently-accessed online cognitive screening.
His practice offers neuropsychological assessment and treatment of cognitive disorders in persons aged 16 and above. Areas of interest include adult ADHD, concussion and mild traumatic brain injury, cancer-related cognitive impairment, multiple sclerosis, stroke, mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and dementia, epilepsy, and PASC (Post-Acute Sequelae Covid-19 aka long Covid). NOTE: DR ANDERSON DOES NOT OFFER ADHD DIAGNOSIS - THIS IS A DIAGNOSIS MADE BY PSYCHIATRISTS, NOT NEUROPSYCHOLOGISTS. Dr Anderson is able to contribute to the diagnostic process by offering assessment of cognitive strengths and weaknesses associated with ADHD but this does not constitute a diagnosis. Dr Anderson's practice also offers non-medical interventions to help people with ADHD symptoms.
As neuropsychology becomes increasingly digitised, Dr Anderson’s practice makes increasing use of on-line cognitive assessment tools and cognitive enhancement (brain training) platforms. He is a registered provider for Cogmed Working Memory Training. Cogmed is designed by neuroscientists, with proven effect on attention and working memory. It has been validated in several large-scale clinical trials and experiments, with findings published in more than 120 scientific articles. Cogmed has already helped more than 200,000 people suffering from attention deficit, a key component of several conditions including ADHD, stroke and traumatic brain injury, and side-effects of cancer treatment.
