Dr Sharma graduated in medicine from India in 2003. He achieved an MRCPsych from the Royal College of Psychiatrists in London in 2007. Dr Sharma gained a Certificate of Completion of Training in general adult psychiatry in 2015.
Dr Sharma has gained extensive experience in diagnosing and treating complex mental health conditions by working in diverse areas within the UK (including London, Edinburgh, and Wales). He has worked as a consultant psychiatrist in the UK since 2015. In 2016, he joined Livewell Southwest as a locum consultant and before taking up a substantive consultant role with Livewell Southwest in 2018. He currently works as a consultant psychiatrist for Plymouth Adult ADHD service and Plymouth community perinatal mental health service.
He has a special interest in neurodiversity (including adult ADHD), psychosis, mood disorders, and perinatal mental health. He has a keen interest in medical education and currently holds the role of Director of Medical Education for Livewell Southwest.
