About
Dr Mehta trained at Barts and The London School of Anaesthesia. He was appointed Consultant in Pain Medicine at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust, London in 2006 and is currently the Director of Pain and Anaesthesia Research Centre at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London UK.
Special interests
Dr Mehta's clinical interests include managing patients with back pain, sciatica, whiplash injury, cervical pain and fibromyalgia.
He specialises in managing patients with previous back surgery who are still left with residual back and leg pain. He is well recognised for spinal cord stimulation, a technique that may offer hope for people world-wide who suffer from chronic pain from failed back surgery or who are not suitable for spinal surgery.
Dr Mehta has established himself as a key opinion leader in the field of spinal cord stimulation for back pain management, and his contributions widely recognised by several national and international invited lectures, medical advisory boards and hands-on cadaver workshops.
