About

Helen holds NHS Consultant Maxillofacial posts at St George’s, Ashford/St Peter’s and is a Maxillofacial, Skull base and Aesthetic surgeon.

She is a highly specialized facial surgeon with over 30 years of experience. This has been gained by working in different specialties Plastics, Cosmetic, ENT and Maxillofacial surgery and includes techniques acquired during her Craniofacial fellowship at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

At the heart of her belief is that facial appearance matters. “Whether we like it or not most of us make initial judgments about people within the first few seconds of meeting them based on their appearance. A person may be born with a facial deformity or may acquire one either through trauma or cancer. Perceived negative changes may occur simply through the normal ageing process. A person may have a face that is not one that represents the person they are inside. Improvement and change in a facial appearance can have a profound effect on a person’s life.”

Helen has developed an interest in facial feminization which encompasses all aspects of her hard and soft tissue training. She helped set up a gender identity clinic at Parkside Hospital in Wimbledon.

Helen has a background in art and has two degrees in both medicine and dentistry. She holds the general surgical FRCS (Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons), the specialty FRCS exam for Oral and Maxillofacial surgery FRCS (OMFS) and has the qualification of Fellow of Dental Surgery (FDS RCS).
