About
Miss Rumana Islam is a consultant Gynaecologist and accredited subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery at St Bartholomew’s Hospital London. She is a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and the British Fertility Society.
Miss Islam is passionate about treating couples who experience conception delays and difficulties. She also has expertise in egg freezing and complex fertility preservation, being the clinical lead for this service at Barts, as well as a keen interest in managing menstrual disorders and perimenopausal/menopausal symptoms. After graduating from the University of Nottingham in 2006, Miss Islam completed her training in obstetrics and gynaecology in Northwest London including at Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital and Chelsea Westminster Hospital. Miss Islam obtained her Wellcome Trust and NIHR-funded MD at Imperial College London and IVF Hammersmith. She completed her subspecialist training in reproductive medicine in Oxford based at the John Radcliffe Hospital.
Miss Islam has published her research in high-impact journals such as Human Reproduction and Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism and has presented her work nationally and internationally.
