About

Miss Sascha Dua is a specialist and dedicated Consultant  Breast surgeon at Nuffield Health Brentwood Hospital, focusing only on breast health, specialising in breast enlargement, breast removal (mastectomy), breast reduction and breast lump assessment. She sees patients with the full spectrum of breast problems, from women with concerns in the change of their breasts (as well as men) and women with breast cancer requiring surgery, which will either take the form of a lumpectomy or mastectomy.
Miss Dua graduated at Guys and St Thomas's hospitals in London and undertook her surgical training at central London teaching hospitals. She spent four of the last ten years of her training at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London. Whilst at The Marsden, she conducted a world-leading research doctorate into the early diagnosis of breast cancer at the Breakthrough Breast Cancer laboratory at the Institute of Cancer Research, and won the prestigious Ronald Raven prize at the Royal College of Surgeons. She undertook one of nine national fellowships in oncoplastic surgery at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford, Essex, home of St Andrews, the UK's largest plastic surgery centre. In addition, she undertook specialist training in cosmetic breast surgery in London and Milan and she is one of the few breast surgeons in the UK with specialist cosmetic surgery training.

Miss Dua offers the full range of reconstructive options in conjunction with Mr Ramakrishnan, who she works very closely with in the NHS as well as at Nuffield Health Brentwood Hospital. She works with a fantastic team of radiologists, oncologists and plastic surgeons, who help her achieve the highest surgical standards and best possible outcomes.

Research

Ms Dua was extremely grateful to receive a scholarship from the Royal Marsden Hospital to undertake a doctorate at the Breakthrough Breast Cancer laboratory at the Institute of Cancer in Chelsea. She worked in the laboratory that discovered one of the BRCA genes and her work looked at diagnosing breast cancer in high risk women. She won the highest academic oncology award at the Royal College of Surgeons for this piece of research and has published her breast cancer research in medical literature. She has also spoken on national TV and media about her breast cancer research and (over many years) has delivered presentations about her breast cancer research, both nationally and internationally.
