About

Andrew Morris has 17 years’ ophthalmic experience, and has a special interest in phacoemusification. He studied medicine in London, gaining a first class honours BSc in 1989 and MMBS in 1990.   

Andrew specialised in vitreoretinal and cataract surgery with fellowships in Addenbrookes, UK  and Vancouver, BC. He was appointed Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Royal Bournemouth Hospital in April 2002.

Mr Morris specialises in cataract surgery, minor eyelid conditions and YAG laser treatments for posterior capsule opacification. He also undertakes phacoemulsification, which is a modern cataract surgery in which the eye’s internal lens is emulsified with an ultrasonic handpiece and aspirated from the eye. Aspirated fluids are replaced with irrigation of balanced salt solution to maintain the anterior chamber. A referral from a suitable healthcare professional is required in order to book an initial appointment with Mr Morris.
