About
Mr Asif Parkar is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Nuffield Health Brentwood Hospital, specialising in hip and knee surgery.
Mr Parkar was trained through the prestigious Royal London Trauma & Orthopaedic training rotation programme. He has done fellowships at the Barts Health NHS trust, London, Guy’s and St. Thomas’s NHS foundation trust, London and a North American fellowship based in Calgary. These are level one trauma centres and tertiary referral centre for complex Orthopaedic procedures.
Mr Parkar’s NHS practice is based at Queen’s Hospital and King George Hospital, London. His practice is mainly focussed around sports knee injuries, ligament reconstruction, partial knee, primary, revision total knee and total hip replacement. He offers patient specific treatment to conditions like patella instability, joint preservation surgery such as Osteotomy around knee. He is one of the few surgeons in the country with fellowship training in performing hip replacement through direct anterior approach. Mr Parkar has been actively involved in research. He has written book chapters and has published his work in several peer reviewed journals. He believes in holistic and evidence-based approach towards patients care.
Mr Parkar has a degree in computer and robotic assisted joint replacement. He keeps myself up to date with modern technology in Orthopaedics and he has in depth understanding of currently available robots for Orthopaedics, pros and cons for each of them.
Mr Parkar believes in offering compassionate care and state-of-the-art solutions to patients with sports knee injuries and arthritic conditions of the knee and hip joints.
