About
Having completed specialist training in Orthopaedics on the West Midlands Higher surgical training scheme in 2002, Mr Evans undertook the highly regarded Cavendish Fellowship. This fellowship covered all aspects of hip and knee surgery utilising both keyhole and open techniques and enabled him to develop a number of research and teaching interests. He is now in his 10th year in consultant practice.
Soft tissue knee surgery
Mr Evans sees patients of all ages with knee injuries, pain, torn cartilages and wear and tear of the knee, which often respond well to keyhole techniques. He will be happy to assess your joints and advise you regarding the safest and best option.
Joint replacement surgery
Mr Evans has performed over 3400 hip and knee replacement operations including many complex primary and revision procedures. He uses tried and tested implants. He will advise you of the best options available in your case including newer technologies if appropriate.
Mr Evans is involved in a number of research projects through his work at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital, Oswestry and is interested in less invasive surgical techniques and bone conservation at the time of primary and revision operations.
He specialises in techniques to maintain and restore native bone rather than bypassing it in order to improve outcomes now and not to prejudice future options.
