About

Mr Simillis is a Consultant Colorectal and General Surgeon at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. He is the Specialty Lead for Colorectal Surgery at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He qualified in medicine with an MBBS from Imperial College London and achieved a BSc in Surgery and Anaesthesia with First Class Honours. He completed his speciality surgical training in the prestigious North West London surgical rotation and trained in leading university teaching hospitals. He is proficient in advanced minimally invasive surgery, including laparoscopic and robotic surgery. He is an accredited endoscopist who performs colonoscopies and flexible sigmoidoscopies.

He specialises in abdominal and bowel surgery, oncological surgery, surgery for advanced and recurrent colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease (Ulcerative Colitis, Crohn’s disease), diverticular disease, stoma surgery (colostomy and ileostomy), hernia surgery, abdominal wall surgery, pilonidal sinus, proctology, haemorrhoids surgery, anal fistula, anal fissure.

He was awarded a Doctorate in Medicine from University College London and a Postgraduate Certificate in Evidence-Based Healthcare. He has completed a Master's in Healthcare Ethics and Law at Manchester University. He has published extensively in the scientific literature and has given numerous national and international presentations at scientific conferences. He is an Affiliated Assistant Professor at the University of Cambridge.
