About

Mr Singh-Ranger initially trained as a doctor in Essex after qualifying from the London Hospital Medical College working both at Colchester and Chelmsford. From there he spent a year working for St Luke's Hospital for The Clergy, London and Anatomy Demonstrating at Barts and The London.

Mr Singh-Ranger entered Basic Surgical Training at Northwick Park and St Mark's Hospital followed by an MD(Res) at University College London.

Having obtained a National Training Number in London he continued senior surgical training, completing it with CCT in 2010. Mr Singh-Ranger furthered his experience in Coloproctology by undertaking a Fellowship as RSO for 1 year at St Mark's Hospital, London and Laparoscopic Coloproctology with Professor Tim Rockall at  MATU, Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford. He continued to a second laparoscopic fellowship in Warwick under the tutelage of Mr Mike Stellakis.

Mr Singh-Ranger has been a Consultant Surgeon at The Royal Gloucester Hospital, Warwick Hospital, Milton Keynes University Hospital for a total of one year and then obtained his substantive post at The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust.

Mr Singh-Ranger practices General Surgery with a sub-specialist interest in Coloproctology, especially Colorectal Cancer Surgery. He has an interest in Laparoscopic Coloproctology (cancer and Inflammatory bowel disease), TEMS, General Surgery, Abdominal Wall Reconstruction and Proctology (anal fissure, piles, Rectal Prolapse).

In addition to his clinical role, Mr Singh-Ranger is Clinical  Advisor to the Parliamentary Services Ombudsman, online Tutor to MSc students at Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh, participates in undergraduate teaching, MBBS OSCE examinations for University of Birmingham and Aston Medical Schools. Mr Singh-Ranger continues his interest in clinical research in relation to surgical diseases.

Research

Mr Singh-Ranger conducted his main research in the role of bowel preparation induced dehydration in sepsis and thromboembolism. He has published on this topic as well as other conditions related to surgical disease. At present he is involved with undertaking research into novel treatments for colorectal cancer treatment in conjunction with Aston Medical School
