About
Mr Herbert studied medicine at Cambridge University, achieving a 1st class degree. He trained in Ophthalmology in Cambridge and Liverpool, completing his training with fellowships in Surgical and Medical Retina at St Thomas’ and Moorfields Hospitals, London.
He has extensive experience in small incision cataract surgery and can offer premium lenses to reduce astigmatism and the need for reading glasses.
Mr Herbert set up the macular degeneration service in Taunton and received the national award for Clinical Service Excellence from the Macular Society in 2018. Mr Herbert is very experienced in vitreo-retinal surgery, treating conditions such as retinal detachment, macular hole, epiretinal membrane and complications of diabetes.
