Mr Fortune Iwuagwu is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Nuffield Health Brentwood Hospital specialising in plastic, cosmetic and reconstructive surgery which includes breast enlargement, liposuction and tummy tuck. He also sees patients with skin cancer, moles and cysts.

Mr Fortune has over eighteen years experience in the fields of plastic, cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. He offers a full range of cosmetic surgery procedures and treatments to enhance your image and boost confidence. Fortune trained in all aspects of plastic surgery in various internationally acclaimed units in both the UK and USA, gaining extensive expertise and experience in cosmetic, reconstructive and hand surgery.

On return to the UK, Mr Iwuagwu was appointed a Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon in St Andrew's Centre for Plastic Surgery and Burns, Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford where his practice consists largely of breast reconstruction, hand reconstruction, skin cancer surgery and body contouring procedures.

He is the lead reconstructive plastic surgeon at Whipps Cross University Hospital, London, where he has developed the breast reconstruction service (immediate and delayed) following mastectomy for cancer. He has also established a plastic surgery hand clinic at Whipps Cross University Hospital.

Mr Iwuagwu offers an expert, personal service from consultation to post treatment care which brings confidence and peace of mind to all his patients. He devotes enough time during consultations to discussing your individual needs and to answer any concerns you may have.

You have the option of seeing Mr Iwuagwu twice before a cosmetic procedure, with no charge being made for the second consultation. This allows you to digest the information from the first consultation, undertake your own research and enables you to make an informed decision about the procedure. You can be assured of personal, attentive service and expert care from a highly regarded and established surgeon.

Mr Iwuagwu lectures regularly by invitation at national and international courses. He is particularly keen on the training of junior plastic surgeons and convenes (or a faculty member of) training courses both nationally and internationally. He does regular charity work (reconstructive work) in Africa.

Research

Mr Iwuagwu has performed extensive research on the healing of flexor tendons leading to presentations at various national and international meetings and publication in the Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is currently involved in both clinical and laboratory research into tendon repair and healing.

He is the Chairman and the Convenor of the highly successful Basic Skills Course in Hand Surgery (Core Skills in Hand Surgery) at the Royal College of Surgeons of England, London. And he is also an Examiner for the Intercollegiate Board exams in Plastic surgery.

He has published numerous articles in peer reviewed journals, both in hand surgery, burns as well as in reconstructive plastic surgery.
