About
Mr Manners qualified from Nottingham University Medical School in 2001. He is a Consultant Urological Surgeon with a special interest in minimally invasive, robotic and open renal surgery. Mr Manners sees patients with a wide range of urological conditions. He has trained in a wide range of treatments for benign prostate enlargement including Trans Urethral Resection of the Prostate (bipolar and monopolar), Rezum (steam treatment), Urolift and is now training to offer HOLEP (Holmium Laser Enucleation of the prostate).
Mr Manners developed an interest in teaching as a teenager when he was a Cadet Leader and Instructor with St. John Ambulance. At university, he gained leadership and educational experience undertaking roles which resulted in him being awarded honorary life membership to Nottingham University Students Union.
Since graduation, Mr Manners has further developed his educational interest by working as a Fellow in Medical Education at University Hospital Southampton and then as a Medical Education Fellow for the Wessex Deanery. He was a senior faculty member on the Tomorrows Teachers course and held a post as Franchise Director for this course. Mr Manners is linked to Southampton Medical School as Associate Clinical Sub Dean for Bournemouth and Christchurch hospitals.
