About

Mr Jason Ramsingh attended medical school at the University of the West Indies in Trinidad and Tobago. His early surgical training was in Trinidad and he then moved to Glasgow to pursue surgical training in general surgery. He then completed a fellowship in endocrine surgery at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle where he has been a consultant since 2020.

The endocrine surgery unit at the RVI is a tertiary referral centre in the northeast of England for endocrine surgery and Mr Ramsingh has a special interest in re-operative parathyroid surgery, thyroid disease and adrenal surgery with an emphasis on robotic adrenal surgery.

Mr Ramsingh is involved in surgical education and training. He is the Royal Surgical Tutor for his hospital and is a postgraduate tutor on several national courses. He also sits on the intercollegiate endocrine surgery committee helping to shape the future of endocrine surgery in the UK.

Throughout his training, he has won several awards and grants including the FRCS Gold medal and an ASGBI/Intuitive Robotic Travelling fellowship.

Mr Ramsingh uses an evidence-based approach in the management of his patients with the aim of providing a high quality of care.
