About

Mr Crew has been a Consultant Urologist for over 21 years with his NHS practice based in Banbury and Oxford and private practices based in Oxford and Warwick. He has extensive experience in managing all urological conditions in particular the management of haematuria, pelvic cancer, PSA and Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH).

Mr Crew has been involved with urological management, education and research at national and international levels and has sat on and chaired regional and national committees aimed at improving urological healthcare within the UK.

He has a national and international reputation for the management of haematuria and bladder cancer and offers a full range of treatments for these conditions.

Mr Crew has expertise in the management of the PSA blood test and prostate cancer. He provides an unbiased view of the benefits of PSA testing, abnormal PSA’s and options for diagnosis and management of prostate cancer.

Mr Crew has a long-time interest in the management of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and male urinary tract symptoms. He has expertise in the full range of management strategies for BPH including Holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HOLEP), Prostatic Artery Embolization (PAE), Rezum treatment, Urolift and bipolar TURP. He is happy to guide patients through the different options available and offer experienced advice.

Through Mr Crew’s extensive experience in Urology, he can offer management advice to patients with any urological complaint. In addition, having performed vasectomy’s for over 25 years and vasectomy reversals for 20 years he is able to give advice to patients on these two management options.

Research

Mr Crew has been involved in research for over 20 years having been awarded a Doctor of Medicine degree for his thesis on ‘Angiogenesis in Bladder Cancer’ in 1998. For this work he was awarded the Sir Langdon Browne Prize from Cambridge University and the European Association of Urology Thesis Award.

Mr Crew has continued to be involved in research through his involvement in national and International clinical trials as either the Principle or Chief Investigator.

Most Recently Mr Crews research focus has been on; 

1] The use of newer immunotherapeutic agents in the management of bladder cancer. 

2] New treatment and management options for bladder cancer 

3] The role of new modalities in the management of men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)
