About
Mr Devalia is a dedicated foot and ankle surgeon with special interest in Sports injuries. He is trained at Newcastle and Sheffield and was proud winner of BOFAS travelling fellowship at Zurich.
He has experience in all aspects of foot and ankle surgery, including Ankle replacement, Ankle ligaments and Achilles problems, key hole surgeries and forefoot deformities.
Mr Devalia has a particular interest in Sports Medicine. He leads a dedicated physiotherapy service to identify these injuries at early stage; provide timely treatment and accelerated rehabilitation. He combines the latest techniques with proven existing methods to promise the best outcome to his patients.
He is heavily involved in Regional Teaching Programs for Northern Deanery and takes a huge pride in training budding Foot and Ankle surgeons.

I offer a specialist foot and ankle service. This includes Ankle arthroscopy, Ankle Replacement, Sports Surgery, Ligament Reconstructions, Forefoot reconstruction including bunion surgeries and Minimally Invasive Surgeries.

Personal interests
Recent interest: I have developed this new interest in running long distances. I am proud of successfully completing my first Great North Run Half Marathon in 2016 under two hours.
Cricket: I have always been a strong team player and have occasionally led my team in school and college cricket tournaments. This has given me a deep insight in understanding and treating sport related injuries around the foot and ankle joints.

Research
MR Devalia’s pioneering work and surgical expertise is reflected by his active involvement in the clinical research related to foot and ankle surgery. He has published extensively and has presented work both nationally and internationally. This work has directly led to the effective management and algorithm development in his practice to treat Achilles tendinopathy and sport injuries.
He has authored the Foot & Ankle book chapter for Postgraduate Orthopaedics: The Candidate’s Guide to the FRCS (Tr&Orth) Examination 3E.
