About

Mr Patel completed broad based training in neurosurgery at Frenchay Hospital in Bristol where he developed interests and expertise in spinal surgery, surgical treatment of facial pain and cranial nerve hyperactive syndromes (trigeminal neuralgia and hemifacial spasm) and stereotactic surgery for functional brain disorders.

He was appointed Consultant Neurosurgeon and Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at Frenchay Hospital (University of Bristol) in 2005

In recognition for his functional neurosurgical research he has been recognised with an MRC fellowship. He has also received awards from both the American and the European Association of Neurological Surgeons and a Hunterian Professorship from the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
