About

Mr Middleton completed his Orthopaedic training in the renowned North East of England orthopaedic rotation, prior to commencing his Consultant practice in Scotland.

Mr Middleton specialises in knee surgery, with a particular interest in sports injuries and knee degenerative disease. He offers surgery to cartilage defects, meniscal injuries, knee ligamentous injuries and patella-femoral joint issues.

He is an expert in arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery and offers a wide range of treatments through this form of surgery. Mr Middleton is experienced in partial knee replacement and total knee replacement surgery for advanced arthritis and offers these procedures when appropriate.

Mr Middleton also offers a range of non-surgical treatments for diseases of the knee. Mr Middleton has an NHS practice focusing on knee surgery and general trauma surgery. He is a GMC recognised trainer and is a clinical supervisor to orthopaedic trainees who rotate through his NHS department. Mr Middleton is a medicolegal expert witness, authoring approximately 100 medicolegal reports per year.
