Mr Rahul Velineni

Mr Velineni read Medicine at St George’s Hospital Medical School and graduated in 2005. After his early medical years in London, he undertook Core Surgical Training in Devon and following this he was inspired by the technical finesse and unforgiving need for technical perfection in Vascular Surgery.

His Higher Surgical Training in Vascular Surgery was in Scotland rotating through Glasgow and Edinburgh. He undertook his research in venous disease in London and Cambridge supervised by Alun Davies and Manj Gohel.

He was awarded a PhD at Imperial College London in 2018, the FRCS in Vascular Surgery in 2019 and a CCT in Vascular Surgery in 2020.

He was appointed as a Consultant in Vascular Surgery at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh in 2021 and maintains an interest in the generality of vascular surgery with interests in carotid disease, renal access, limb salvage, infrarenal aortic and venous disease.

He supervises medical students, junior doctors and vascular surgery trainees. He has also been involved in surgical education and recruitment of future surgical trainees.

He is married to a nurse with two children and enjoys cycling and is an avid albeit long suffering supporter of Tottenham Hotspur.
