About
Mr Tailor is an NHS consultant ophthalmologist and lead for Glaucoma at Oxford Eye Hospital (Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust) and is a specialist in glaucoma, cataracts and general ophthalmology.
Following completion of his medical training in London and ophthalmic training in the West Midlands, Mr Tailor completed a two-year fellowship in glaucoma from the internationally renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital, London. While at Moorfields, he gained extensive experience in the medical, laser and surgical management of complex glaucoma and in performing cataract & glaucoma surgery (trabeculectomy, aqueous shunt implantation and cyclophotocoagulation). Furthermore, he is experienced in performing glaucoma laser (Selective laser trabeculoplasty and laser iridotomy) as well a large range of MIGS (minimally invasive glaucoma surgery) procedures including: the I-stent, Hydrus Stent implant, KDB procedure, Gonioscopic assisted Transluminal Trabeculoplasty (GATT procedure) - using the OMNI device and Xen implant.
Mr Tailor is a consultant to a number of companies in the forefront of the medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma surgery. Furthermore, he is actively involved in teaching, training and research in the field of glaucoma. Mr Tailor runs and teaches an annual surgical glaucoma training both regionally and at the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. He has a number of peer reviewed publications and written book chapters as well as won local, national and international prizes in the field of Glaucoma.
