About

Mr Mehmood is a Laparoscopic Colorectal and General Surgical Consultant at Nuffield Health Leeds Hospital and Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. He is the Clinical Lead for General and Urological services. Mr Mehmood was awarded FRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh in 2000.

He had successfully completed a Master of Surgery thesis in investigating the independent predictive marker for platinum-based chemotherapy in Oesophageal Cancers from the University of London in 2007. He passed his intercollegiate FRCS (General Surgery) at the end of his training in 2012 from Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh.

He completed his basic surgical training and specialist registrar training in UK and gathered more than 15 years of experience in general surgery. Mr Mehmood is a trained laparoscopic general surgeon and has more than 10 years’ experience in laparoscopic surgery. Mr Mehmood has also received specialist training in laparoscopic and open colorectal surgery.

Mr Mehmood's higher laparoscopic surgery training was completed mainly in UK and he had completed training courses in advance laparoscopic and colorectal surgery from different Institutes in Germany, Switzerland and UK. He actively teaches laparoscopic surgery to junior surgeons regularly at Barnsley hospital and on laparoscopic courses.
